He picks it up and then justkind of drops it randomly and then goes under again and gets another. It's almost like he's making a cave. It's absolutly adorable but very strange. Any ideas? |

I have an electric blue johannii that picks up gravel one by one and spits it out in a corner of the tank.. starts to pile up after a while. They are just making space for themselves.. a little room to relax in! Nothing odd about it! Hope this helps! ![]() ![]() 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. He seems to get bored after a while so I'll knock his piles down...this fish puts all of the stones from the back half of the tank into the front. Medium Sized gravel, he picks them up one two three at a time. He also is known to pull apart my plant decor as well and chase them around. digging, its a cichlid quirk, don't worry |

It's digging a breeding pit to spawn in case any females happen by. |

I think he's pissed at me and wants back in his regular tank. Usually this behavior is for spawning. I have seen bass and crappie do it in lakes where I fish. Kinda neat to watch |
