![]() | flower horn dead!! |
Nick Taylor 421![]() Fingerling Posts: 40 Votes: 0 Registered: 23-Jun-2004 ![]() ![]() | My roomate bought a flower horn. he has had him a couple of weeks. he bought a fifty five gallon this weekend to put him in. before we transferred him to his new tank, we shut the filter off for an hour in the tank he was currently in. the ph level in the water was fine, but one thing was weird. when we got home last night he had a white mark on his lip, almost like a puncture mark, i thought that one of the white clouds we were feeding him might have gotten him with a fin when he tried to eat it. i dont believe it was ick becauase there were no white dots on any fins, and he did not act out of the ordinary. he was only about one and a half inches long and the temperature in the tank was between 75-80 degrees. the last water change we did was when my roomate bought him two weeks ago. any information you people can tell me would be helpful. i dont want to put a fish in the tank he died in until i know its not a virus or something. Thank you for all of your help Nick ![]() |

OK what was the fish in before it was in the 55gal? And why did he shut down the filter for an hour? and wouldn't the water have been changed in the new tank? And had any of the tanks he was using been cycled. Shoulds like it could be stress induced if the fish was getting moved around. |

When the filter was shut down I was going to move him over right away, however I got distracted for about an hour, and when I came back he was not doing well. On the other hand, when I was out of town picking up my 55gal fish tank, the fish that came with it lived inside a 5 gallon bucket for 8+ hours. So that leads me to the conclusion that he died because of stress. |
