I came across a beauty of a cichlid,... so i would like to know what they are......i will describe.. as i can not remember off the list the scientific names.. The body was a real nice violet/purple/hint of blue.. with the fins being a nice yellow. Can you point me in a direction of some pictures as i would like to know what this is all about!!!!

72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up
75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair)

Well one things for certain being purple or blue its most definitly a Lake Malawi cichlid. However your description could be one of many fish. You may want to consider searching malawicichlids.com. Hopefully you'll be able to find it. Good Luck!

i would check the most common 1st, being yellow tails with purple body i would guess Acei.
