over the last couple of weeks my little green terror has recieved alot of harrasment from my other bigger cichlids. i guess he's the runt of the tank. but tonight i thought he was dead! he was floating as if he was. but i saw his fin move and i was relieved. but i moved him into a different tank.

do you think he'll make it?

It doesn't sound good for him but he may rally. I would only give 10-20% chance though if he got to the floating on the side stage.

Shame that you didn't move him earlier if you have noticed the harrassment a few weeks back. I can only assume that as soon as you noticed a problem you took measures like changing decor adding plants for hiding etc.

For anyone else reading this please take action as soon as you notice trouble. Even if it means taking stock back to the shop and being out of pocket for the cost of the fish. It is better than a fish being victimised, in a tank there is no respite as it is enclosed.

he has been chased for two weeks but what i heard thats normal cichlid behavior.

what i dont get is he had his own space, thats why i thought he was okay.

i always keeped a close eye on him so i guess he got this bad in a day.

but two weeks ago my leporinus turned up dead as well

so in that tank i have an oscar, texas, and a jack d. theyre all equal in rank and the terror just couldnt keep up.

it sucks! and i thought the gt was able to hang with those guys.

A baby fish put in with bigger established fish will always cop a beating.

they were all the same size and had been together for 4 months.

maybe he just wasnt as strong as most gt, even though he ate and acted normal.

The fish might have been sick, and the other fish picks up on status of fish and will attack.
Sometimes humans have been known to do same.
