My husband and I bought two black convicts about 4 months ago. We were watching them today and noticed they were what it looked like was kissing. They have not breed yet and I was trying to figure out if they are male or female. I cant figure it out. I have looked for the normal signs and to me it looks like they both have bumps on their heads. Is there an easier way of telling?

Usually the females have a bright orange area on their belly, which makes it easy to tell. If it helps, I don't think that the female convicts have very noticeable humps. I understand that it's a male feature.

They may also be fighting & not kissing. Angels also lock their mouth's together & sometimes they're fighting & not courting each other.
