Well, Oscars can be quite aggressive.
Espescially if you end up with 2 males.
It really depends on a lot of things.
Is the tank big enough? 2 Adult Oscars
will need a tank of 125 Gallons to be happy
together- they grow to be very very big (14-16+ inches)
Also, Oscars grow very very Fast- wont take much more
than a year for them to reach near to adult size.
Is there things in the tank that break up the line
of sight - rocks, driftwood, plants, decor?
Did you introduce them to the tank at the same
time? If so, they may be just squabbling over
territory, and until they work out a heirarchy,
the squabbling may continue. Try to rearrange
some objects to change the territories. This may help.

Put some stuff, plants, floaty bathtub toys, marbles, just something for the Oscars to mess with. That might cure the problem if the big one is bored and looking for something to do.

The other problem could be not enough room. If you can, get them some more.

maybe they feel they dont have enough room, they make those tank dividers(if that isn't waht u are useing now) i would keep them seperated like that untill u get a bigger tank.

Get live plants. My two tiger O's love to rip it out and chase it around. They get cranky if they can't... so fake plants wont work. Try the bigger tank and re-arranging your tank, but if those don’t work, you’re better off trading one of the fish.

With toys, be careful of the size and colours on them. You can easily scare your O's with the wrong toy, they're big bullies until something slightly bigger or tougher looking comes along. I got my O’s a toy dinosaur when they where about 10”s each. It freaked them out, and they wouldn’t go near that end of the tank. Plastic crabs and diver – they love to pick them up, and throw them at each other
