I have to ask this question. I have a breeding pair of kribs who have had 2 generations of fry totalling more than 100 fish. I have given away or sold about 65 of them. I kept a couple of males from my first batch and threw them in my 40 gallon with some rainbows. The 2 males have thrived and colored up nicely. The one male is huge! He's every bit of 4 1/2 inches with tail. He's also very robust to say the least, rivaling some of my Mbunas for shape and size. Is this an unusual size for a krib? I've never seen them this big, but I know they're usually young in the stores. He's at least twice the size of his father. I keep looking for a protruding brow ridge and a vial of steroids in the tank...

I think that they can grow up to 10cm.

Yep, 10cm or 4" if you will, is the norm, wether in the wild or in captivity. So KUDOS for your 4½ inches prize specimen ! Steroïds...

Good one !
