the midas i have on hold is less then 2" and the smallest gourami is 4" i dont think he'll show too much aggresion. if so i have multiple tanks i can put him in. as he will get bigger i was going to get each pair of gouramis there own tank. then he"ll have the 55usg to him self.

that's a very good idea beastkeeper. once the midas hits ~6-8" he/she will decide the whole tank should be his/hers and likely kill any other fish in the tank. in a larger tank (125+) you might be able to keep the midas with larger gouramis with no trouble. I used to have an 8-9" midas (female I believe) that would swim side by side with a 5-6" bala shark with no trouble. tank size is the key though...when I put the same midas in my 75 gallon she tried to kill the pleco that was with her and she had never bothered the plecs that were in the 125.

the midas will have about 6 more inches to grow before he becomes a problem. once he gets aqqressive( hopefully not) ill move him in another 55usg by himself.
