I'm more into the africans, but once in a while the new worlds spark my interest.

Well anyway, in your opinion what is the most aggressive SA/CA cichlid.

Since I don't know a terribly lots about the new world I'm going to hazard a guess at the wolf cichlid(Parachromis dovii). What do you think.

according to many, Cichlasoma (formerly Nandopsis) beani is the most aggressive overall cichlid. the dovii is usually still ranked in the top 5, usually getting number 2 or 3. the problem is that the beani is very rare so not many have kept them. however, all that have kept them agree that this is the most pugnacious, mean, aggressive cichlid out there amongst both new and old world's.

of all the cichlids I've kept, my red terror (Cichlasoma festae) is the most aggressive. These are usually ranked in the top 5 as well.

Jason, your red terror is real aggressive? I wish mine were.

I've had a bunch of aggressive tanks in 15 years. As for as aggressors I would say these in order.

1. Red Devils
2. Convicts
3. Firemouths
4. Dempsey's
5. Terrors

This is my opinion.

Dovii hands down. They are usually pretty timid until they hit about 10 inches.....then LOOK OUT. I've heard about Doviis taking CHUNKS out of their keepers arms when they go to clean the tank. Right now I have a 6 inch Dovii in my 90 with my 12" Midas. They get along really well right now but the Dovii will be moved into a 300+ gallon tank that is being custom built for me right now. A male Dovii can get to 30"+ in the wild but usually get to about 24" in the home aquarium. Mine is a male so I can't wait until he gets big. You can see pics of him in the Photo Booth under my post called "Midas and Dovii pics". The pics aren't that great, I will be posting new ones soon!
