my oscar out of the blue ate one of my larger fish i mean he is like 4 inches and he ate a fish that was like 3 inches. Obviously most of my fish are young. Does this mean i should start feeding him live fish?

Live fish aren't healthy for oscars. They're like potatoe chips. If you want to feed live food, try earthworms.

it also means you should take the rest of the survivors out and find a new home for them, as i can safely say that they will disappear as well!

I've thinked about geting a Oscar but all i read is about the hard it is to keep it with other fishes and the big they get...

I got a similar experience once i've boght a pictus cat-fish and my other fishes just started disapering...

That's very true Smaug, they usually don't take kindly to other tank mates, particularly if they're introduced when they're fully grown adults Although some can grow up quite happily with other cichlids and be quite happy.
I was actually thinking about our 2 oscars and wondering what would happen if one of them died, how the other would take it and probably not being able to add anything else to keep it company

I also agree that your oscar will probably now go after your remaing fish now that he's got the taste

Oscars LOVE live food but it doesn't have to be feeder fish, it can be crickets, cockroaches (no spraying or baits though)and earthworms.
