I say that there is no way of telling until there is a picture. Or until the fry grows big enough to determine the species, but that may take a while, so I will wait for the picture.

But if i had to throw a wild guess...I'd say its an eartheater of some kind.

ok, he is finaly in his normal clothes

ok, he has a patch under his eye, has a big black dot on the base of his tail, and the spot in the middle of his body has a stripe going the length of his body..OO i almost forgot, he also has 3 egg spots on his anal fin,

i almost gutted my angel i saw he had a huge belly and assumed he has eaten one of my new commers, so i swiped him up in the net, slapped him down on the table, i first felt his body (ok, no cory spines) then i checked his mouth (ok too small for any of them except the tiny cory) but i did want to save SOME of my guppy fry, so i threw him in the partialy filled 55 gallon, just in case after that, all my fishies came back out to play
^^^just thought i should confess to you all^^^

Yeah, he's no Ram. I'll stick to my guess of some sort of Eartheater.

hmm, do you have a pic of those fish? because after an hour of googeling, i found other species that seemed alot more similar to mine that this fish apears, maybe its becasue they are so small now (about and inch) but if i could get some pics to help that would be great

I seriously doubt he will turn into one of those. Sure they're technically the same fish, but what you see there is specially bread. I'm not saying yours won't color up, I'd expect him to get some nice red and blue on his fins. However, I would seriously doubt him to turn into one of those.

You probably won't have to worry about him/her breeding with your Bolivian Ram They are not from the same genus (Bolivians are Altispinosus and Cockatoos are Apistogramma) so it is highly unlikely that they will interbreed. As for the other recent hybrid (I beleive it was Theresa_M's Blue Acara and Green Terror) they are both from the same genus (Aequidens) which is why they were able to interbreed.

you sure he could turn into this damn i hope your right! even the female is pretty thye like can breed with bolivians can they i have one in the same tank, and with all this hybrid talk floating around, i just want to keep an eye out for signs for breeding.

it would be cool if they bred, but if they did, i would have to keep the zebra danios, to limit the fry survival, and i would not sell the fry, because ofcourse i dont want to incourage hybrids, only because some people mutilate some fish with hybridising, but with fish this gorgouse! who needs hybrids anyway!

It's an apistogramma caculotoids, very closely related to cup's apistogramma, only much more common. In fact, it is the single most common species of apistogramma sold. The care would be somewhat similar to bolivian rams, except you'll need more in the long run as they like friends. Males get 3" long while females hit 2". I've owned cacs and they looked just like your fish.
