ermidontknow![]() Small Fry Posts: 9 Kudos: 4 Votes: 0 Registered: 18-Mar-2004 ![]() ![]() | hello, im having some big troubles with my new angelfish that i purchased today. now, i already had a 7 inch angelfish, and recently i decided it needed a friend, so i bought it a very small 3 inch or so angelfish , and they became friends, hung out together, the big angel never once picked on the little one. so today, i see ONE large angel at my lfs and it was so pretty i had to buy it. so i put it in the tank with my other 2 and this new angel is about 8-9 inches, very large, but very very passive. my angel immediately attacked the new guy relentlessly , i took all the ornaments out of the tank to mix up the territory but my angel just will not leave the new one alone. within 20 minutes the new one has tons of scales knocked off, a small open wound from being picked on, and its fins are a bit shredded. i panicked and put it in my 55 gallon goldfish tank, and it seems fine, hasnt been mean to my goldfish, in fact him and one of the goldfish have been swimming around next to each other and sitting next to each other like theyre the best of friends. weird. but i know thats not good at all and angels and goldfish dont mix but i just dont know what else to do with him at the moment. any ideas? is there any way i can put it back in the tank with my other angels? im terrified if he stays in there too long my other angel will kill him ![]() ![]() |

I don't know if you'll ever get them all in the same tank. I had a big/little pair like that and the big male backed a 5" Sevrum into a corner. I had just bought the little one and the big one started protecting it right away. Then the little one died and 2 days later so did the big one. Do you have another tank you could keep the new one in? Or maybe he can stay with the goldfish if their tank is warm enough. Good luck, Mike |
