blah, blah etc. i got 4 new kribs right. i am planning on putting them in a 20 l with my other krib male. right now they are floating and the krib male in the tank is turnning red and is attacking the ones in the bag. now is this a bad sign seeing how the new kribs are about 1/2 his size.
also the male in the tank seems to only attack the bag where the other 2 males, and one female is, but there is one female in the bag that seems to fight the other female. could che be fighting for right to breed with the large male?

One thing to clarify: when you write 20 l, do you mean a 20 litre tank or a twenty gallon long tank? That's a huge difference.

I don't have kribs but was consdiering them, so I did a lot of research on them. I suspect you have too many kribs for that space. I don't think I would keep more than a pair (one male, one female) in a 20 gallon tank. Others with more experience can confirm or contradict me on this. I'd probably keep only one of the new females and bring the rest back.

If you've got a pair of Kribs, breeding pair, that's about all you can have in a 20 long. before they pair you should be able to keep a half dozen or so. I think the resident male is defending his territory and will probably attack once you let them out of the bag. I'd take either your big male of both little males an 1 female back.

Good luck, Mke

Sounds good, Chris! Let us know whether you hear the pitter-patter of little fins soon.

One of the meanest fish I have ever had was a krib. And your descriptions bear out my hunch that it isn't an experience I wish to repeat.

Separate out the breeding pair. Do a rotation until you seem to get the two that are in lurve (breeding behaviour should be easy to spot in this breed)
