They will out grow that tank by next year maybe sooner. Everytime they eat you can actually see them growing. I had one for 2 weeks (2.5 inches) and he would eat 4-5 small feeders in a matter of minutes. It was quite impressive.

Oscars growth depend on what you feed them, and how often they are fed.
If you feed them many meals a day say like 6 instead of 2 they will grow very fast. Oscars will take live food greedily, they can eat almost anything, you can try earthworms, raw shrimp(baby fish will eat it too),blood worms and even freeze dry is a good option.
Blood worms can get them big(5"-7" in less 6 months.

There's a couple of things that effect their growth, and food is but one of them. Another imporant factor is water quality. Feeding them to often or to much will lead to the quality of their water degrading and ultimately their health, which obviously effects their growth rate.

If you feed them by the standard rule - twice a day, no more than they can eat in three minutes - they should hit about 8"s in 6 months. In twelve, you should be looking at 10-12" fish, and after that, what you are feeding and their water quality/tank size will dominate if they keep growing and how fast they do it.

Stick with the flake/pellets as their stapple diet, and supliment it with live food and fresh vegitables (like peas) every so often as a treat. No more than once a week. This will keep your water quality good without the need for huge numbers of water changes, and still maintain a constant healthy growth rate!

Ohh... and a 75G should be fine for at most 2 Oscars provided it is 18"s or wider. You might find when they get big you are doing more than 1 water change per week at 20%, though.

I agree with everything jester said with one exception. forget the flakes...once past 1/2-1" an oscar has no need for them. stick with a good quality pellet food as the staple diet.

might i suggest Hikari cichlid pellets. these are great for oscars and formulated to include everything they need includeing natural color enhancers.

Bloodworms make a nice treat and pretty much anything else that fits in thier mouth lol.

would liek to add that the amount of protien and water temp also effects growth rate. breeders use this method to speed up the growing process so they may sell them faster.
