i got rid of a pacu and black shark so i could have an all cichlid tank. so right now its just my tiger oscar in a 2'x2'x4' and im going to completly redo my entire tank. i realy want the max that i can have with lots of contrast in colors between the cichlids.
maybe flowerhorn, midas, jaguar, etc..
any big boy beastly cichlids would work.
thnks

All those would together would look nie together, but yes oscars are sort of wimpy, so they might in fact beat up on him, but maybe if you get a small group of convicts the oscar might do alright b/c the others will be occupied with the cons.

this oscar has some un oscar like ways by leaving a smaller cichlid grave yard in the bottom of the tank. so i hope this will equal out the bar. so im going with the list above, but can i add any others?
along with the cons

the golden severum is a lovely fish, clever & not agressive, the colouring is fantstic bright yellow with a little orange on the fins.

woah, you said you're going with the list above...does that mean you intend to add a flowerhorn, jaguar and midas to the tank??? If so that would be a huge mistake. like others have said, the oscar will likely be shredded when the other fish get bigger, plus I'd say there's about a 90% chance that only one of those fish will survive the long run. midas, jag and flowerhorn are all very big, territorial and aggressive cichlids. imo, at least a 180 gallon would be needed to attempt mixing them. in anything smaller deaths are most likely to occur.

if you want something to mix with your oscar, check out the Nicaraguan cichlid, chocolate cichlid, uaru's, and all different species of severums. These fish would get along much better with each other and your oscar.

I also agree that severums would be a good mix. I keep them with 2 8" oscars. Gold severums and regs make good color contrast. Along with that i have one albino and one red oscar. Oscars are not an overly aggresive species (personalities differ though) and the ones you listed above are known to be quite aggressive.
