Yeah, some of those are really aggressive and with all those other fish there's not enough room for teritories. Plus you have to look at the fact that many of those fish require vastly different water conditions and have vastly different diets. I'd say yeah get rid of half the stock.

Holy moly. Once those cichlids reach their adult size, all hell'll break loose. IMO, Keep one of the plecos, the silver dollars, and maybe 2 of your favorite cichlids. Also, Africans and Americans should never be mixed.

Absolutely not true! Most of those fish won't get anywhere close to adult size if kept together in that tank permanently.

Seriously, you could keep 4 maybe 5 of the cichlids if you pick the right ones.

The red devil, jag, flowerhorns and red terror (especially if it's a true festae) will each try to take the entire tank and will eventually need a 75-150 gallons minimum just to be kept alone or with a mate. The black belts from what I hear can be rather aggressive and 2 males will most likely not get along. Then again you could wind up with a male and female and if they form a pair you'll be in real trouble.

One thing I find interesting is that there was no question included in the original post which makes me wonder what the intention was in posting the stock of such an overstocked tank.

it may seem alright for now. the crowded numbers keep any one fish from being bullied too much. but once they start to mature, the battle royale may start and they will compete for space. nature should take over and they'll begin to eliminate each other. when they get to a decent size, I suggest getting rid of some of the trouble makers, and keeping about 5-6 fish you really like.

Holy poop on a stick... that is way too many fish! Especially American cichlids... you are lucky they arent killing each other now! You definately are going to have a problem in the future. I agree with Jason. Condense down to about 4-5 equally tempered americans. Good luck. That is a HUGE bioload for a tank that is only a week old!
