When fully grown they have a similar shape to a Texas, and their colouring is jet black with gold specks with looks very attractive. And they are actually from Madagascar. I have one about 3" in with Americans which he seems to have no problem with, and shows similar behavior, though seems to prefer they upper areas of my tank when sleeping.
