Most foodstuffs claim to make colours better. Fresh and/or frozen foods should provide all the requirements that your parrots need. Mine devour anything and everything that goes in.

If the fish is injected with dye then it will fade when it fades. The fishes diet I don't believe will help keep the chemical dyes longer. The food is for the natural coloring of the fish but I may be wrong. Besides being bad for the fish this is a reason not to purchase dyed fish. You will probably end up with bland looking fish with short life span. But that is just my opinion.

i don't really agree with injected fish = short life span. i had a reg black parrot that turned yellow/red and it lived for about maybe 4-5 years. now my new injected fish i have had for about 3-4 years.

What are you all talking about. Red parrot fish are red. They arent dyed. If u see some bright purple or blue one, thats dyed...

Parrots turn to a "natural" red or pink color when they grow up. When they are juveniles they are black, yellow, or grey.
