i have a 3ft tank wasting space ( growing aquarium weed )
and was wondering how a pair of peacoks would go and do you reckon any thing else could go in there with them.
(i would empty the tank and harden the water etc)

I would suggest not a pair but a trio of peacocks as they are harem breeders

i would be thinking of having 1 pair, because it is not a large tank and if 2 fish were breeding than the other one (if i had a trio) would probably get a turbocharged route to the ceramic express ( toilet bowl (dead fish) ). what do you guys and/or girls think.

The plan of haveing a pair will most likely equal out into having a male. The reason is that the males entice the females into spawning by showing off chasing them around the tank and nipping at thier annal fin. With only one female in the tank she will recive the male's undivided attention and be harassed so much she will stress and be unwilling to sppawn causeing more intense reaction from the male, turning into a cycle that eventually will probally kill her.
From your post i think your thinking they are a type of cave or substrate spawner wich the majority of cichlids are, but these are mouth brooders, so there is no protection of the nest.
