	pearl cichlids
bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	as some of you may know i am looking for a cichlid like a flower horn, but not as large, and aggressive. the only thing that i know, is a pearl cichlid. does any1 agree.

I wouldn't compare the brasiliensis to a flowerhorn at all. if you're looking for something smaller and less aggressive than a flowerhorn then I can only think of 2 at the moment that might work for you. the common Salvini or the less common Amphilophus lyonsi.

Jason_R_S Moderator Posts: 2811 Kudos: 2421 Votes: 391 Registered: 18-Apr-2001	G. brasiliensis is supposed to be one of the more aggressive Geophagus but no where near as aggressive as a flowerhorn. they are a very slow growing species, but can eventually get 10-12". because of their potential size they would need around a 75 gallon to be really comfortable.
