My tap water is 7.4. I added crushed coral to my substrate to raise the ph so I could change over to africans.

The ph is 7.8 and not budging.

Is this the right level to put in some electric yellows and electric blues?

thx in advance friends...

I agree usually 7.8 - 8.4 is good for africans. Yellows and blues should make alot of flash in that tank.

The ph level in my mbuna tank never got above a 7.5 and I never had any problems with any of the fish.

Didn't say much....

Well i found out some info. These are the recommended PH values for each type. Try and avoid anything below or above the recommended values.

Lake Tanganyika............7.8 - 9.0

Lake Malawi..................7.4 - 8.6

Lake Victoria.................7.2 - 8.6

p.s. The band-aid is still good thanks wish-ga.......
