I have a breeding pair of cons. in a 29 gallon tank and they beat up on my tinadad pleco. Is thier a better choice in a pleco. that would be a better match.

My common pleco handled himself well with a breeding pair of cons. It will outgrow the tank, but if you can make arrangements on down the line I would suggest that.

Mine was larger than the convicts. The pleco was a bit agressive in its own right, and I am sure that helped him.

My clown pl*co handled himself very well with my convicts, even when being pummeled during convict spawning. He suffered some torn fins but otherwise he did fine.

convicts get extremely aggressive when breeding,
especially in a small tank where other fish have no where to hide,
it's highly likely that they are going to be killed by the cons.

if you want to keep pleco, make sure there are lots of caves for them to hide in

I had a setup similar to yours.I had a common pl@co with a pair of breeding cons.
When the cons wanted to spawn, I had to remove the pleco. Not because he couldn't handle himself, but he would eat all the convicts eggs.
