Is it possible to find these guys in Sydney? Just thought I would ask the experts.

Regards and thanks

I know I can't really help, since I don't know if you can find them in Sidney. But, by looking at the pictures I've found they look similar to the Kenyii, except that they are longer, thinner, and the males don't turn yellow when mature. So if you can't get the Pseudotropheus Elongatus, you might try [link=pseudotropheus lombardoi]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/lombardoi.xml" style="COLOR: #FF1493[/link] That is if you can get them and not the elongatus and want something similar...heidi

Thx Houston but I already have Pseudotropheus Kingsizei in the tank that looks very similar to that. In fact I wanted the elongatus (blue striped w. yellow tail)to go with him and the electric yellow. In the tank the colours of my fish are yellow and blues and I thought he would be a cool one.

Thanks for the advice and link, so helpful as always .

No problem wishga...glad i could be of help Ever think about the [link=pseudotropheus acei?]http://fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/acei.xml" style="COLOR: #FF1493[/link] They might be of interest since you are going blue and yellow...they are a beautiful dark blue with yellow finnage...but I can understand if you are dead set on getting the Elongatus...good luck finding what you really want heidi

Thanks H...H must stand for H-elpful as ever. Winner!

I like the acei's but for some reason I thought that acei and mbuna set up I have existing are different routes.

I thought since I had decided to stock in the way I have that acei weren't a good idea since they require a different community/combo. Like trying to combine tangs/mbunas type blunder. If I could add acei's then I would think about that one. Is it possible?

I have;
1 x electric yellow
4 x Hongi Island
1 x pseudotropheus kingsizei
4 x clown loaches
1 x bn

As far as I can tell you should be ok adding them to the tank And hey I'm not always helpful, just ask those who tried to talk to me first thing this morningYou just happen to have fish in an area i'm familiar with The acei aren't as aggressive, but they can definately hold their own, even when one of my kenyiis decided that he was a maleand against the rusties, who are flat out viscious for their sizedid you know that they are one fo the few who actually have teethI had read it when doing the profiles for the rusties, but didn't believe it till I had to pry the little booger off my finger...so the acei should hold their own quite well in the tank...of course give them plenty of hiding spots/caves/running room, and all should be fine...

Just something I know from having mine, my pH isn't in the 8.0 range, I hover about 7.0, 7.4 at best...so if the pH is a little lower they should be fine, just remember to aclimate; like you need to be told that...

heidi

EDIT: I would love to be able to find some of the Hongi Island Labs...they are beautiful they look like a cross between the acei and the kenyii...very nice, and very prettyhml

You could absolutely go for some Acei.

I recommend passing on the Elongatus, as their very aggressive and usually require at least a 90g, just for 5-6 of them alone.

Why not get a few more yellow's and 2-3 Acei

Cool..When I move my tank I will add some acei. Was thinking crabros but the aceis will be in the colours to compliment my current mbuna stock.

I can borrow my mum's digital camera but I can't post pics because I am not a premium member. I may have to send to one of your emails and ask you to post if poss.
