i have two angel fish in a 40 gallon and ammonia nitrate and nitrite are all fine and ph os good to but when i put the newest one in the tank the old one (same sizes, tiny about inch long) nipped at the new one. is it possible that after the fighting they could pair up and babies not now but in the future because it seems to me that they are fond of each other. they do not go anywhere in the tank by theirselfs but my question is even after fighting can babies be in the future??

Angelfish are territorial cichlids, it's possible your new angel has weasled his/her way into the older Angel's territory. I would suggest some redecorating.

I'm not positive that I'm completely understanding your question, but I think you're worried about them breeding because they fought? If that's the case, most likely, the fighting did no permanent damage, so I wouldn't be worried about that...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

well i think it would be cool if the did breed because to buy two angels and for them to pair off would be pretty cool but i did change the inside of the tank around and that is when they stopped fighting thats funny u mentioned that because when i think about it thats why they did stop fighting

Actually, I bought three angels and two paired off immediately and spawned about two weeks after getting them. However, at first, the third angel was constantly being nipped at so I had to move her to another tank. Just a couple days after moving her the pair spawned.
