Do they just eat everything and anything? I had some plants bulbs that were sprouting and now they are fish food. grrrr, but i love the fish so i'll just sprout more bulbs in my quarentine tank.

That's the first time I've heard of rams eating plants. I've never seen my rams eat any of my plants. Is it just those bulbs or do they eat other plants too?

My rams don't eat plants so I'd probably look for some other culprit before blaming it on them. maybe you could give us some more information on the tank parameters, what other fish you have in there, other plants, light levels, etc. and we can try and figure out what happened. I can't see rams nibbling plants if they had anything else to eat, they might as a last resort if they were starving but I doubt it would be enough to kill the bulbs.

i know for sure its the rams, have caught them red handed... or greenmouthed, of course other fish are probably attributing to the destruction but the rams are the only one i've caught...

The rams may appear to be biting at the plants, but mine often appear to be biting at the gravel, as well. Probably they're just grabbing stuff off of the plants.

rams will supliment their diet with plant material. I've had problems with one of my plants (a bacopa) being nipped at by my krib and rams, though they aren't doing it too fast, and they seem to leave new shoots alone. I've found the plant nibbling decreases when they get a bit of algae waffer, which i throw in mainly for my albino BN.
