i have a pair of rainbow cichlids..
and was wandering why the spawn and lay a gazillion eggs but no fry hatch.

is it possible i have 2 female fish (they do court) or is there somthing more sinister at work.:%)

how big are they? it is possible they are 2 females but it could also be that they are too young. the males may not have reached maturity which means of course that they wouldn't be capable yet of fertilizing the eggs.

but it appears that your barking up the wrong tree.
considering you also purchase fish from the same lfs.

and yours dont got problems.
