just some questions that popped into my head:

jelly bean parrots: are they actually breed back to parrots, or just pink convicts with painted etc......

peacock cichlidsbass) how are they different and sometimes classified as different, but yet still fall under the name peacock bass.

Jellybean parrot cichlids are convict/parrot mixes, and are sometimes available in a dyed form.

Peacock bass are cichlids of the genus Cichla. Apparently they somewhat resemble bass, which is where the common name comes from.

"how are they different and sometimes classified as different..."

I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you're asking about the "bass" designation, it isn't correct. Just as with many other common names, this one is inaccurate.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a mawali hap which is sometimes called the peacock chichlid. Then there is the peacock bass. So that would explain the differences.

like Sirbooks said, all of the species of Cichla are called "Peacock bass" just like all species of Crenicichla are called Pikes and all species of Astronotus are called Oscars. There are several species of Cichla and no not all of them look alike and they do grow to different sizes. I believe the smaller ones grow to around 2 feet in length, while the largest is Cichla temensis growing to just over 3 feet.
