oscar should be in a 75 alone, and in a 150 + i would say if after a day, of watching and there are no problems than it seems ok.

Red devils need a lot of space to swim, as they are teritorial. You can teech them to eat out of your hands.

if you are gunna try them together watch them very close, the red devil i put in with my oscars seemed fine together but when i got up in the morning the red devil had killed one of my oscars, and badly damaged the fins on my other oscar, the only fish in the tank that wasnt terrorised was my male convict.

Depends on the size of the fish. I currently had an albino oscar in with a red devil in 70 gallon tank along with a Texan and I have absolutely no problems and have not had any for 6 months.

150 gallons is a bit of an overkill, especially for two fish.

were these fish all purchased as juveniles? if so then the reason they're doing fine so far after only 6 months is that they haven't reached maturity yet. once the red devil and texas reach maturity they will most likely take out each other and then the other fish until the most dominant one (most likely the devil) is the only one left. these fish need their space and lots of it which is why 150 gallons for 2 fish isn't overkill at all.

personally I wouldn't mix a red devil and oscar. I did once but it was when I was first starting out with cichlids. granted, they lived fine together for some time but the red devil hadn't reached maturity before I moved her. plus it was a female so she was a bit more tolerant than a male would have been.
