In that sized tank, with the other planned fish, I would say no. Severums are peaceful but grow large. They would still demand a territory and would cause problems later.

I have a green severum about 5" round in a 60G with an oscar and black shark. Beautiful colors in it. Very docile but I have heard when they are the center piece they can cause problems.

With angels in the tank, I would say no. Without Angels they would be perfect.

I agree with tetra fan on that one angels need 10 gallons each so if you got rid of the angels you would have 20 gallons for your severum!!!!!!

Also the Severum might be aggressive towards them...or vice versa. But thats a good reason too....I think

Mine doesn't...at least not yet. It is about 3-5 inches...I can't really tell. But so far my Severum thinks it is the only one in the tank. Except during feeding. It will eat the food after the Rummy's are done.

Larry C, I have to say that your oscar will be far to boisterous to allow the severum to co-exist soon. please remove one or the other for your fishes sake.

I agree, without the angels you could add a severum. with the angels I think you are close to fully stocked. If you do get the severum, just make sure you keep count of your rummynoses as the sev gets bigger and if they start disappearing either remove them or the severum. However, assuming you never feed him live fish and you buy him very small he probably won't ever look at them as food.

As for Larry, what are the dimensions of the 60 gallon tank. Oscars and severums are supposed to be excellent tankmates so long as the tank is big enough. I can tell you that your black shark will eventually need a much bigger tank as they can get quite large...one site I saw they grow to almost 2' in length.
