An omniverous diet of flake food or cichlid pellets, and possibly some occasional veggies like shelled peas or lettuce would probably be good for your Severum. |

Try to feed it some tubifex worms or blood worms, usually they will happily take it. If you have it, brine shrimp will help supplement some high protein that will induce faster growth rates. |

They also nibble on the lettuce, zuchini and cucumber I feed my pleco. As an occasional treat I feed watermelon, bits of earthworns, crickets and live ghost shrimp. The sev expert at my lfs says their growth start to slow down at 4-5 inches. They add less overall size but more mass. Mine are at this point and seem to have slowed their growth a bit. |
