In fish of the same age, there should be a big difference in size between the males and females (males are bigger). In other species the size thing usually applies but there are other signs as well - for example, gold ocellatus females often have white-tipped dorsals, female brevis have less distinct barring on the tail, etc. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

If you have too many males, one may split off to form another colony across the tank from the original group...when they're small, they're darn near impossible to sex. Eric |
