Substrate is unimportant, though sand is preferred - just enough to cover the bottom, as they'll soon be pushing it out of the way, and if you have an inch you'll just end up with big piles of it. My 20 gallon long multi tank has 100 shells and could easily fit more. They're colony fish, so a 20's a good size, though they'll still work hard to overpopulate it. ![]() ![]() -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
