i have a 27 gallon tank with two convicts in it each 1.5 inches and they stay to one corner of the tank so the rest is very empty. i am looking for some colorfull cichlids that wont be aggresive and have great personalities i was thinking about Blood Red Jewel or Johannii. ooh i know this tank is a little small but i am getting a 55 gallon at the end of the month fo the cichlids

well as convicts grow older they are going to get more agressive. when you get the 55 , why dont you get some more convicts.. as they are known to breed!

I have a jewel cichlid, and they are pretty! They are known to be agressive as they get older and require a bit of room for territory. I have mine right now in a 55 gallon with some other cichlids. But I also put in some rocks for plenty of hiding spaces. They can grow between 4-6" depending on situations. They are very pretty fish, and they also have a blue counterpoint partner. Ive seen it labled turquoise jewel. THat is a pretty one too. They need a balanced diet of veggies/and "meat"...so they are omnivorus, i feed my cichlids Cichlid flakes by tetra min, they are red and green, but i also feed with many other types of food as well. I hope this helps and if anyone sees an error, please correct me!
