i noticed earlier this week that my convicts are showing signs of stress(hiding in corners, not eating, not active).
i have a male and a female convict and also a set of firemouths in a 70g tank. their all about 2-2.5 inches. i also have a yoyo loach, upside down cats(3) and a common pleco. ive had my convicts for almost a year and never seen them act like this. any ideas? or solutions would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Do you have enough stuff in the tank, rockwork, flower pots caves. I've noticed my Firemouths are happier with lots of structure and Convicts like flower pots to breed in.

You might also make sure you're water is okay. Even if Ammonia and Nitr(I)te are 0, elevated nitr(A)tes can stress fish.

You might also consider a school of dithers to assure the Convicts there are no large hungry predators lurking about. You'll need something fast and sturdy with Cons and Firemouths. Maybe Tiger Barbs.

Good luck, Mike
