Do you think pearl gouramis would be too large for your tank? I've kept them with angels without problems.

Hatchetfish are probably smaller than what you're looking for. Maybe some male guppies that would complement the colors in your tank?

no not really into live bearers, been there done that and it over crowded my tank heheh. although they would make for good free food for the angel i guess. its a thought .

I'm not a big fan of livebearers, but you might be and platys, mollys, and swordtails fit that bill.
