Live, frozen, and freeze-dried foods all make good treats. Basically, anything beyond the standard diet (that the fish likes) can be considered a treat.

Crickets, mealworms, cut-up earthworms, frozen or freeze dried shrimp and bloodworms all make great treats.

veggies are good too.

I had SA cichlids that like blanched/microwaved zucchini elastic banded to a rock and peas thawed and popped out of the skins.

Give it a go.

Take the zucchini out after 1/2 a day or so.

Good luck with your revised menu options for the guys.

beef heart is always a favorite in my tanks

The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."
