I've seen less than a handful of long-finned oscars in all the lfs I've been to so around here I'd say they're fairly rare. personally that's fine with me because I really don't care for them. 2) yes, Peacock bass (all species in the Cichla genus) are cichlids. the more commonly available species grow to around 2 feet long but there are larger growing species like C. temensis which grows to 3 feet or larger. I would personally consider no less than a tank or pond at least 8' x 3' as a minimum even for the smaller species. ![]() |

One of my local fish stores -always- has long-finned reds, tigers, and albinos. Not very attractive fish, in my opinon, and the whole idea just doesn't make sense to me. They seem to be pretty popular with teen girls around here, though - long, flowy fins on a big, aggressive fish.. *shrug* ______________ Cake or death? |
