just fed my oscar half of a rather large earthworm and thought he would just gulp it down..........
well he had a good attempt but for about 10 mins half of the worm was hanging out of his mouth it took him a while to get it all down and whn i thought he had finished the worm poped back out slightly (just to say hello i think)

is this normal? will he be alright ??

should i make the pieces i give him smaller or will he be ok eating them like this ??

How big is the oscar. I think that its better to feed him the worm in chunks rather then whole as it would be easier for him to digest.

If he is a little guy. I would chop the earth worms in to small bitesized pieces. Thats what I do for my oscars. That makes it easy for them to digest the worm and fit it in their mouth. Good Luck!

yeah cutem up a bit, when mine were babies thats what i done, because they are such pigs they will take my than they can chew, whatever does not fit in they mouth they just leave it to hange out rather than bite it off and hare with other tankmates.this can cause over feeding, because belive me these guys are never full, they will eat much more than they need.

It's better to chop the worms in pieces & then feed your Oscar.
If the Oscar is small, i wouldn't recommend feeding him whole earthworms.
