I have 90 lb of live rock in the tank we are converting to freshwater. So it needs to find a new home. Some of it has some very nice Ricordea false coral growing on it as well. I might get a pic of the tank. It's been in the tank for a couple-three years now, so no bristleworms or mantis shrimp to worry about. Was a mix of Fiji and Gulf rock. It has a really good covering of coralline algae as well. Any takers? I will probably be posting this on Aquabid soonish...

If I wasn't on the total complete opposite end of the country, I'd take some...

But I'm on Long Island.

Awww sorry Ferret. Well there is now an Ebay auction for the rock. My brother convinced me to use that instead because we want to find someone nearby who can pick up or we can drop it off to. BTW, my brother also typed the ad, though I told him a lot of what to say. Ack. I will give you a link for the auction as soon as I get one (I'm using a different computer plus we just put it up).

Id change this part.

No bristle worms or mantis shrimp. None of that rubbish in these rocks.

Bristle worms are beneficial to the tank as detrivores. If you get someone looking for rock that is experienced they might pass it over thinking that it is "sterile" since you say "no bristle worms".

Hmmm you have a good point DRO. although it is true about mantis shrimp. I would about die if I saw a mantis shrimp in my tank >.< Heard about them splitting just about any tank... (reminds me of a cartoon I read the other day - 'my $2 fish just ate my $25 fish!')

I argued with my brother that "Only the highest quality exotic imported live rock" was misleading because the Gulf rock isn't really imported, and experts would know that, but I guess that's not the crowd he wants to sell it to. So I doubt he'd want to bother changing it for that. A lot of beginning hobbyists don't want to see bristleworms because they sting... people and fish... I guess that's what we're going for.

Mantis shrimp make great pets...I kept one for a year (died from stress during my move to the new house). I plan on getting another after the first of the year.

Well that is good for you DRO - I personally am not interested in having one hurt anything, fish or equipment included.

Ferret - would be nice if you were closer too. Hopefully the person who bids on it last will be nearby so we can drop off/pick up... Someone asked if our town was near San Diego... since San Diego is like the farthest point in California from my house... answer is no... (East SF Bay Area)
