I am not sure this is the correct place to ask, but I figured people reading this board would have to post things at some point so maybe could help me out?

Is it safe to post baby fish?as in guppies about 1 cm long?

how could you do it?

I worry about them being bounced around and getting stuck to the sides of the bag and dying??? is that possible?

Also how would you post plant cuttings? or snails? I have read that people post snails(WELL Wrapped)in soaked kitchen towel?

I have been looking on Ebay and a guy is selling Endlers, I haven't seen them for ages! and I was thinking how he could post them?? I have asked but got no answer. i won't put the link in case i get in to trouble.

Mods if this is wrong please move or lock etc.

thanks people

I wouldnt mail baby Guppies. I ordered some and it was only 2 days in the mail and they were all dead.
I wouldnt mail fish until they are at least 1 inch in size.
Heres how you do it:
Get a styrofoam cooler with a lid in a smallish size. Bag your fish (double bagged) with 30% water and 70% air, you can use an airpump and the airhose to make sure you get good air, or hold the bag about 4 inches from your mouth when blowing it up so as to not get too much Co2 in there.
Pack the fish in the cooler using newspaper to secure and steady them if needed, and include heat packs if shipment is travelling a good distance. Place cooler in box and seal. There you go! Oh, test the bags you use for leaks prior to putting fish in them just to be safe.
Hope this helps!

Oh, and for plants, they are easy enough, wrap them in soaked newspaper or paper towel, place wrapped plants inside plastic bag with a little extra water, and place inside a box or padded envelope.
Just dont put plants and fish in the same bag together or the plants will steal all the oxygen and the fish will die.

And mail on a MONDAY, not a friday nothing worse than your cargo getting stuck in a mailroom over the weekend!

Couriers are usually better than the postal service and as it is usually buyer pays, its not that bad.

Don't feed the day before you send, and consider shipping in aquaseptic of some sort to guard against any grazes.

be sure to use bags with rounded corners.

If you can, get them bagged with O2, ask a local fish shop to do it for you (or a welder or someone on O2 therapy )
