Anyone have any info on these. I looked in the profiles and could not find them. I thought these guys would look good in my community but I wanted to get some more info on them before I think about getting them.

Don

Also the store had something they called Rambo Barbs? Anyone heard of these? Size and stuff?

Thanks

8-line barbs doesn't ring a bell;
the name Rambo barbs seems to me like it came from barbus rombocellatus.
B. rombocellatus is a peaceful fish, at least when you talk about barbs. It will occasionally chase it's tank mates, but certainly not to the extend that tiger barbs are known to do. Provide them with dense vegitation and some rocks and driftwood to retreat in when things get a little too wild for them and they'll be perfect tank mates in your communitiy tank.
They don't grow very large; app. 2-2.5" will be pretty much be all they can reach. They'll eat anything you feed your other fish, from flakes to frozen food. An occasional vegitarian dish is much appreciated.
Good luck and enjoy them!

Went to the local library to do a little research on this fish. I found a book entitled "The Barbs Aquarium" by Elson and Lucanus. This book has them listed as The Eight-Banded Barb (Eirmotus octozona). Did not give any info on them though.

I enjoyed this book. It's a nice read for anyone that is setting up a tank centered around barbs/rasboras/danios. Of course there are dozens of great fish in this book that I now want but have never seen.

Striped Drawf Rasbora and Odessa Barb to name a few... I love to check out the books at the local library for ideas for my tank setup and to read up on the hobby but always find a new fish I want

Yep the ISBN is 0-7641-2116-2

Haven't picked up these fish. Not even sure if the lfs still has these guys. When a uncommon fish does come in they normally go pretty fast.
