I have a 12cm CAE that I've had most of the year, and have now finally been able to move him into a bigger tank!

The thing is I don't know if I'm over feeding him of if he's just not eating because of the move(a whole two meters!)

I give him algae disks and shrimp pellets and he's always been in with live plants. I've never seen him eat, but it's been several months so I presume that he does.

But the question is, how much should a fish this size eat?

Chinese Algea Eater? They will eat any vegetable matter when they are young, but as they mature (5" they will eat the slime coating off of other fish. Just an FYI. If they are well fed they may not do this too much. Algea disks are a good choice, but they should be high quality ones (HBH are the best, with Hikari a close second; Wardley and Tetra are next) and occasionally zuccini will be accepted. Nothing beats good ol' real algea though, leave a rock or something in a jar/tank in a window until it's covered with algea...

That said, if it's been several months, I'd say he's eating. It's easy to tell: If he looks skinny, he's not eating if he looks fat, he's happy lol. If he looks fat, stick with what you're doing.

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

He doesn't look particularly skinny or fat. I know they eat other fish's slime coats, that's why this tank is designed around him. I guess I'll feel happier when I see his food dissapearing.
