Could Cherry Barbs or PencilFish go with guppy and platy fry? I would like to get some more use out of my 10g, and I have a single cherry barb in my 25. I was thinking it would be nice to have about 6 cherrys in with the guppy fry, to help keep the cycle going and to add a splash of red...sure do like those cherry barbs. If cherry barbs wouldnt work, would Pencilfish? I do like the dwarf pencilfish a lot.
Any ideas on this?

I would be wary of putting barbs in with any fry. Pencilfish would be better. You could also put white cloud montain minnows or small tetras in. Also, lots of plants, real or artificial, with lots of small foliage help fry by providing them protection.

Thanks butters! thats what I was thinking. Pencilfish are definetly peaceful enough to keep with fry, such tiny mouths too!
It is a plant grow out tank as well, so it is heavily planted with wisteria and rotala wallichi, as well as duckweed for top cover
It has white gravel, and the pencilfish would definetly stand out, and be happy.
I may consider putting a divider in the middle, keep fry on one side and either pencilfish, cherry barbs, or a betta in the other side. I will have to think some more about it!
