I used to keep a trio of Cherry Barbs a few years ago & all i can tell you is that they are very peaceful & shy.

What are you going to place with them & how will the tank setup be?.

well keep in mind this is just a musing i dont really know if i want them in the tank yet. but temporarily they will be in with like a 3inch raphael and maybe two small angelfish. as the raphael got bigger id move them from the 55 to the 30. umm so far the tank has three mediumish peices of driftwood small black gravel and i plan to put in a few anubias and java ferns. maybe a flower pot as well not sure. everythings all up in the air. im thinking like 5 or 6 of the cherry barbs.

Anubias, Java Fern & driftwood, will be a nice setup. The Cherry Barbs coloration will be very nice with the black gravel.

I have 5 in with a pair of paradise fish. They're very active and not shy at all...the tank is heavily planted which may help make them feel comfortable and come out more.

The males are the very red ones, females less so with a defined stripe down the side. One male to every 2-3 females works out well.
