She probably gets them cheaper than us, though, as she's right next to the source.

I concur with the above. Denison's reach about 6 inches or so as adults, and are active, fast swimmers. Which means you'll be looking at a LARGE aquarium for your adults, and even for a breeding aquarium into which you place a single pair, you're looking at around a 55 Gal US.

And, just to make sure that you actually obtain some eggs, because as yet no-one has reported for certain whether or not Denison's are egg-eaters, start acquiring Java Moss in industrial quantities for your breeding aquarium!

Incidentally, Clownygirl now has Denison's Barbs. Perhaps if she can be persuaded to take a peek in here, she can offer the benefit of her recent experiences with them.

If you manage to breed them then they will surely pay you back as they are very expensive fish here innthe UK.

It's going to be very tricky.

As far as I know nobody has successfully bred them in the home aquarium. This is why they have been so hard to find.

But there's hope. The reason they are becoming more avialable is that some fish farms in Singapore have figured out how to breed them but still not in huge numbers hence the high price.

Good luck with them beautiful fish.

6 inches per fish plus a large school = roughly a 100 gallon near-species tank, if other barbs are an indicator of breeding conditions.
