I have a large school of 50 right now and was surprised to find 5 small Celestial Pearl Danio aka Galaxy Rasboras in my canister filter this weekend. They are not small fry, and have to be at least 2 months old. That is how long it been sence I put a foam block over the suction side of filter. I have been watching and tring everything I can think of to see some breeding, but have not seen amy. Another FP member said he read/has a article about the breeding requirments and habits from a recent mag. They must have been breeding at somepoint but i have a feeling they are eating there own.

Looking back at the log I was running the tank at 72 degrees and feed chopped blood worm twice a day. The tank had/has Java Moss and heavy plants with light. that is the best i can say right now hopefully someone will figure out the right combination.

How old are your fish they might not be old enough for spawning. That is the other thing, mine were bought at different time and places to try and keep a strong gene pool.

Here the article and bio that was published when the fish was name: http://rmbr.nus.edu.sg/rbz/biblio/55/55rbz131-140.pdf

Try and find last Months Tropical Fish Hobbyist. They had a large article about Celestial Pearl Danio's which covered breeding.

Thanks alot bratyboy2.

The light is not very high, so i decieded to use Ferns & Anubias attached to Drift/Bog Wood.

The tank is 90cm long & the substrate is sand. Not much, just covering the glass. In there i have some C.aeneus albino & C.trillineatus. There are some Rummynose & Black Widow Tetras & 2 Otocinclus. The filter is an internal & i'm going to change it with an Ehein 2224 as soon as i'll receive it.

Thanks alot once again, for visiting my pictures.
