![]() | Harlequin Rasbora tankmates? |
gnr4ever8794![]() ![]() Enthusiast Posts: 253 Kudos: 222 Votes: 24 Registered: 12-Apr-2004 ![]() ![]() | This is for a 40 gallon tank. I'm just wondering what people here keep with their rasboras and what they would recommend. I don't have my heart set on anything really, just something colorful. Also I'm not sure on how many to put in and how to stock it, so any help with that would be appreciated. There's no fish in the tank currently. |

Mine are in an Asian biotope with small gouramis (honey, sparkling), cherry barbs, and kuhlis. They're good schoolers so get as many as you can depending on what other fish you decide on. You could add one or two angels, they come in a big variety of colors and markings. Or maybe a larger gourami such as the pearl. Then perhaps something for the bottom, a nice group of cories or loaches. Last edited by Theresa_M at 18-Jan-2005 12:38 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

They are great schoolers (like was mentioned before) and I've never seen them nip at any of the other tank mates. I really think they would be fine with most tankmates. Good luck with whatever you choose! Jen |

They are with some Keyhole cichlids and angels right now. I would recommend a school of at least 8-10. They look great in a good sizes school. |

Like maybe some platies, guppies, or any other ideas? |

Plenty of room. ![]() I'd suggest a school of bottom dwellers, like cories! Or maybe some loaches if you wanted, but I like cories. ![]() I think you have enough room in there for a whole 'nother school of something...anything you're interested in? *looks at stocking list again* *ponders* EDIT: Aren't you the guy who had the like 3948590385 gallon tank at the restaurent...? EDIT: Oh, right, 40 gallon Last edited by Ferretfish at 19-Jan-2005 06:59 -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |

How many you think I could put in there with some room for some small loner/pair/trios of fish. |

They live with cardinal tetras, a platy, female bettas, bronze corys, and a pleco. In the past, they shared the tank with a dwarf gaurami, a moonlight gaurami, and a Bolivian Ram. I never once saw ANY of these fish pick on a rasbora, or a cardinal for that matter. They picked on each other, and the moonlight and the ram had to be returned, but the little fish seem to be perfectly fine with all this options. Hope this helps. -Dennis Last edited by Beefshank at 19-Jan-2005 23:58 |
