How big is the tank, and what are possible tank mates? That'll determine how many you can have in a tank.

Usually, at least 6 in a tank are recommended, although I think eight or more is a better number for Harlequins, as they tend to develop a hierarchy that, if they number less than about 8, can lead to excessive stress for the weaker fish.

Edit: I can type. Really, I can.

Yeah, they really should be kept in schools of six or more. They are schooling fish, after all. The more, the merrier with these guys, though we won't know how many you can fit, unless we know more details about your tank.

EDIT: In that case, I'd have about six. You should add another tetras, too. They are just like rasboras in that they are schooling fish.
You might want to remove a gourami from the list. Otherwise, there might be some crowding at the surface, and your tank list is overstocked, anyways.

I would skip having the "5 of some type of tetra" and just add 5 more rasboras. Eleven would make a decent school.

I have 6 but they schooled tightly even when they were in a group of 4, i guess it depends on the rest of the fish.

Agree with Sirbooks. May want to reconsider the stocking a little. Gourami need access to the surface, as do the upsidedown cats (that's why they swim upsidedown) and rasboras pretty much stay at the top half of the tank. So it maight get a bit crowded up there and a bit bare below.

My suggestion:

Choose only one gourami, they get big. I've seen them in the 5"-6" range...

Don't add the other tetra school, put the harlies in a group of 8+ instead. Safety in numbers with these guys.
In addition, chose to have a school of cories instead. Something like C. Panda maybe.

*goes to convert liters to gallons...*

Wow, that's only like 25 gallons, a lot less than I thought.

In this case, I'd switch to having a dwarf gourami instead. Peaceful, pretty, and stays small, unlike some of their relatives.

HTH...

Ferret a liter is just a little bigger than a quart rite rite how many quarts are in a gallon 4 divide liters by 4. Frankly i would take out the goramies they are cool but theyll spare some room for your 8+ rasboras that you need to have
