Only if there is a large group becuase if you have less than 6 they might start nipping other fish's fins. if there are not enough of their own kind they might turn to harassing other fish without their own kind to deal with.

They actually have a tad bit of history of being a nippy and mean little fish. They might attempt to beat up on the guppies, or nip at the fins of the guppies and gourami. They're beautiful fish, but I wouldn't put them in there...

I bought some of those a few weeks ago and they are very pretty. I was told that they were very peaceful and it is neat to watch them swim/dart around the tank.

But now that they are comfortable with their surroundings they have begun to harshly nip at my adolescent guppies. ]:| I'm now thinking it may have not been a good idea...Maybe I should have gotten some tiger barbs... *sigh* Oh well....

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I pride myself on my Danios. I recently rescued a gorgeous golden LF Danio from my sister-in-law (who was attempting to starve the poor guy to death!)] to accompany my 6 assorted danios in my 55 gal tank. He seems to get along very well with everyone in the tank including my Platies and Cardinal Tetras. I understand they can be nippy in small groups, but my little guy seems to be fine in a group of 7.

Their long fins seem like little underwater sails. It's hard to believe they can swim as fast as they do!

I have never had any problems with 4 zebra danios. I'm not sure about the guppies tho. Zebra danios are great fish.

They can be nippy. But most fish can be too if they aren't in the right setting. With a larger number of Danios the nipping will be kept mostly within the group. With just a few, they will most likely "play" with the other fish in the tank.

If the tank is too small there is the greatest chance for nipping. I've never kept them in anything smaller than a 20 gal. and no problems. A 10 gal. is too small IMO.
