Quick question,

What are some peaceful, non-agressive fish to have with my two cherry barbs?

That depends on what fish you like, and how much room you have. Could you provide some more information?

Off the top of my head though, I'd suggest six Corydoras catfish.

Wait, now I'm confused. First you said that you have two cherry barbs. Now you're saying that you have four? Which is it?

Either way though, I think that a school of six small tetras or six small cories would be nice. Another option is a dwarf gourami, or you could have several ottos. It all depends on what types of fish you like. Are you a catfish fan, do you like Characins, or labyrinth fish, what?

well i would like some corys. I am not sure how much money they are. Iam running low on cash. Do gouramies need a companion?

The prices for cory cats range greatly. You should easily be able to find some for something like $2.99. The problem is, these cheaper cories tend to get rather large, and shouldn't be kept in a ten gallon tank. Ideal cories for you would be pandas, whose price ranges depending on your area. Where I work, well sell them for $4.99, but many chains will have them at a lower price. Sometimes you can even negotiate prices if you agree to buy a bigger number, such as you're doing.

Male dwarf gouramis, which is the one you'd be getting (the females are rather dull gray in color and most stores don't even carry them, the males come in vibrant colors and have many different color variations, like red, turquoise, and blue) do not need companions. In fact, they will most likely fight with another gourami. They are peaceful solo, but in order to have multiple gouramis I'd recommend a bigger tank so everyone has room to establish territory.

I'd just go with one. Like Liana said, males will fight with each other, and females aren't widely available. One male dwarf gourami is about all you'll need.
